Volunteering at ASI
Become a volunteer at ASI - volunteering is a great way to connect with other members, volunteers, staff members and our visitors!
Kaffestuga and Kitchen
Volunteers monitor and replenish the refreshments in the Kaffestuga, as well as receive payment from customers. Kitchen volunteers assist with preparations for ASI events and catering needs. Opportunities include cooking and preparing hors d’oeuvres and meals.
Collections and Exhibits
There are opportunities available to assist the Curator, including assisting with creation, maintenance and removal of exhibits as well as assistance with the ASI Collections to catalogue acquisitions, maintain existing items, etc.
ASI Programs and Special Events
ASI has many programs and special events throughout the year and there are frequently opportunities for volunteers to assist staff in preparations, planning and execution of events and functions.
Fundraising
ASI relies on the donations from a variety of sources to maintain the mansion, the Institute and its educational programs and outreach activities. Volunteer opportunities are available to assist with soliciting funds and in-kind donations for the Annual Fund and other special events.
Office
Staff members occasionally have assignments available for volunteers, which may include tasks such as filing, typing, stuffing envelopes, etc. These projects are often on an as-needed basis.
